Tools used: Google Docs, Envato Elements

Development Time: 3 hours

Client: The Werehouse--Transforming your Halloween

Learners/Audience: The Werehouse includes 50 people, but only 15% of them are return employees. That means there are 85% new hires each season. There is a mix of high school and college students and retirees, creating diverse learners to motivate.

Executive Summary: The Werehouse is a US based franchise focused on providing the best brick and mortar Halloween experience for customers. Customers can purchase costumes, accessories, and party decorations. A locally owned store in a suburb of Baltimore, MD is seeking help with customer service.

The Werehouse currently has a 3.5 rating on the most popular search engines. The average customer service is mainly because of poor customer service interactions. The goal of the company is to boost the store's online ranking through improved customer service.

Challenges: There is a $15,000 budget but no LMS. Even though The Werehouse doesn't want to invest in a SAAS since there will be no use for the system for several months of the year, the company wants to know who is completing the training and when the training is completed. The Werehouse is open to ideas, but Corporate must sign off on the project to ensure the training is completed. The Werehouse is open to ideas, but Corporate must sign off on the project to ensure the training is within the corporate branding guidelines and doesn't conflict with corporate messaging. Despite these challenges, the company wants to boost their online rating through improved customer service.

Solutions: A scenario-based elearning course published for a mobile device is easily accessible by employees, is cost effective and doesn't need the investment of a LMS. Scenario-based learning will increase the learner's engagement and allows employees to fail and learn. The scenarios will build employees' confidence in how to handle customers' requests, leading to more satisfied customers and higher profits. Instead of relying on a LMS, the course is uploaded to Google Cloud where employees can access the course using a URL. Once the learner successfully completes the course, the employee will complete an embedded Google Form serving as a certificate of completion. The employee will list their name and email address, and the information will be retained in Google Sheet. This is the storyboard for a shortened version of the course with attention to company branding guidelines.

Results: After implementation, employees will practice the necessary social skills to handle customers. Employees will improve both their skills and confidence. This improvement will boast customer satisfaction and an increase from a 3.5 rating on the most popular search engines to at least a 4.0 within six months.
